Growing up in Winnetka, Illinois, Nancy graduated from the University of Colorado and, after two years of teaching third grade in the East Bay, moved to San Francisco where she worked (with a few years in St. Louis and Aspen) in an administrative capacity with prominent architectural firms. In July of 2006 she found fulfillment of her artistic ambitions when she joined Mary Harden's botanical pen and ink class, and she has continued with Mary's watercolor classes for the past eight years, receiving her Master Artist in Botanical Illustration Certificate in October 2009.
Nancy began exhibiting with Mary Harden's group in Black Tie Botanicals in 2006 and has enjoyed further exhibitions at Alcatraz Island, the San Francisco Botanical Garden Library, the Marin Cancer Institute, Smith Ranch, the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers, the Bay Model Center, the National AIDS Memorial Grove, Macy's Spring Flower Show, the Lindsay Wildlife Museum in Walnut Creek, and multiple exhibits at the UCSF Faculty Alumni House.
